What does it mean if my A/C freezes up?

If the A/C freezes up that is usually a sign of low air flow. Some probable causes include a dirty filter, dirty evap coil, blower inop, low refrigerant, bad TXV, or bad contactor.

What is SEER rating?

SEER stands for “Seasonal energy efficiency rating.” As defined by AHRI, “SEER is a mathematically determined ratio of the total cooling capacity during normal periods of operation (not to exceed 12 months) divided by the total electric energy input during the same time period.” Basically the higher the rating the less electricity it uses.

Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio 2. It is the new testing procedure, and requirements implemented by the D.O.E. to take effect Jan 1, 2023. M1 testing will be used by all manufacturers.

What is A2L Refrigerant?

A2L is a class of refrigerant that has a lower level of flammability compared to other refrigerants. Equipment using the A2L refrigerant requires features to mitigate risks, such as Spark-proof motors, flame traps, leak detection, and proper ventilation.
